Kaleidescape Strato M is an entry-level movie player, redefined. Providing lossless audio and reference-quality 2K video output, Strato M works on its own or as part of a Kaleidescape system.

Lossless Audio
Strato movie players provide lossless audio, maximising sound quality with a range of downstream components. Strato supports multichannel and spatial audio codecs including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD, DTS:X, and DTS-HD Master Audio.
Kaleidescape’s lossless audio makes your processor, amplifiers, and speakers sound the way the director intended. The dialogue is clearer, and every subtle sound and rumble draws you deeper into the story.
Reference 2K Video
High-fidelity output. Strato M plays 4K movies in standard dynamic range, HDR10, and Dolby Vision, with BT.2020 and 4:2:2 chroma, making reference 2K video output look sharper, with more accurate colour fidelity.
Movie bitrates up to 100 Mbps. Kaleidescape movies are high bitrate and downloaded to local storage for uninterrupted, flawless playback. There is never buffering or degradation, unlike streaming services that are limited by internet infrastructure. Learn more.
Kaleidescape movies are also unconstrained by file size limits, enabling our content team to maximise the video quality transcoded from studio mezzanine files, unlike Blu-ray discs, which have a maximum file size limit.
Standalone
Kaleidescape’s lowest cost of entry. When standalone, Strato M stores about a half-dozen high-bitrate movies on an internal, solid-state drive. Strato M features the same streamlined interface as Strato V, optimised for navigating a small movie library.
Strato M can download a Kaleidescape movie in minutes over gigabit Ethernet. Downloads become a candidate for automatic deletion 48 hours after playback, making room for more movies. Purchased movies can be re-downloaded at any time.
