Kaleidescape Terra Prime movie servers store Kaleidescape movies, TV series, and concerts. Kaleidescape movies have lossless audio and reference video, are downloaded asynchronously and then played back from local storage. This enables playback with full fidelity, irrespective of internet connectivity.
Kaleidescape movie files are typically ten times larger than streamer movies, retaining near-lossless video and fully lossless audio fidelity from studio masters. By contrast, streaming movie files are heavily compressed to create small movie files that can be streamed over the internet. Kaleidescape movies are played back on Strato movie players. The Strato V movie player can store about ten downloaded movies. But for greater movie storage capacity and immediate playback of more movies, you can group Strato V with up to four Terra Prime movie servers. When Strato V is grouped with a Terra Prime movie server, its internal storage is disabled (in favor of more scalable server storage), and the full Kaleidescape user experience is enabled, including the list view and iconic cover shuffle view, which look and work better with larger movie libraries.
