Cinema Under the Stars

We were approached by a building company to look at providing a complete audio visual and whole home automation package for one of their clients. The building company had used one of our competitors in the past and was not happy with the fit, finish and reliability of their work. We were asked to allow for automated lighting, blinds, cameras, intercom, multi-room audio and video throughout the home. With the cinema room we were challenged to fill what is quite a large space with quality picture without blowing the overall budget

Krix MX-30 Design

The room measures 8 meters deep X 7.2 meters wide X 3.8 meters high at the front of the room. The clients wanted to seat 14 people across 2 rows and wanted to include three large star ceiling panels with no visible speaker boxes as part of the design. It was decided that a combination of Krix MX-30 with spaces up front, Scenix in-wall speakers for front wide, surround and rear surround with Stratospherix in-ceiling speakers for front and rear heights would be used. Processing by Anthem, amplification by Elektra and projection by the new Epson LS-1200 onto a massive 200″ acoustically transparent screen

Client Decision & Equipment List

This one took a while as the home took some time to go from planning to the build stage, however, once our client had reached a point where 90% of the building estimates were in he approved all systems including the cinema

Installation

Due to the size of the home the project took over two years to get to the installation stage and like most projects the cinema is one of the last things to complete. The building company were fantastic keeping on top of all trades to ensure a superb fit and finish plus their planning kept all work on site seamless

Completion!

We are very happy with the end result for the entire home, the cinema is the icing on the cake. From the moment you open the large timber door you know you are in for a special experience!
